Shin Bet moved Naveh on `solid' threat

Minister Danny Naveh and his family were evacuated from their home in Shoham on Thursday night because the Shin Bet security services had firm intelligence that a terrorist cell planned an attempt on his life, the unit for protecting officials told the minister.

An investigation into the case is still continuing, and sources involved said the information regarding a planned attack was "solid."

The Prime Minister's Bureau, which is in direct charge of the security services, issued the following statement yesterday: "Because of intelligence information and the problems posed by the area where [Minister Naveh] lives, and the limits to available resources, the director of the unit securing officials ordered the Shin Bet to evacuate minister Danny Naveh for a short period until security in the area of his residence could be improved."

A guard post has been in place near Naveh's home for some time, but it appears the reference to "improved security" refers to the construction of nearby homes in the neighborhood being completed.

After the assassination of Tourism Minister Rehavam Ze'evi three weeks ago at the Hyatt hotel in Jerusalem, the Shin Bet has intensified security around the cabinet amid more warnings that Palestinian groups intend to target the lives of senior Israeli officials. A committee of inquiry into the Ze'evi murder highlighted the problems the late minister gave the Shin Bet in refusing security cover. It is not known if any of the current cabinet ministers have refused protection.

Degrees of protection vary - from the highest level for Prime Minister Ariel Sharon, to other members of the "kitchen cabinet," Defense Minister Benjamin Ben-Eliezer and Foreign Minister Shimon Peres. Another minister who enjoys a high levels of protection is Avigdor Lieberman, who lives in the settlement of Nokdim, near Bethlehem.

About two weeks ago the Shin Bet asked Ben-Eliezer not to spend a night in his home because of information about a possible attack against him. However, it seems the most "threatened" man in Israel is Chief of Staff Shaul Mofaz. Security surrounding the IDF chief has been intensified and he travels by armored car. Other senior army officers also have additional protection.

tomorrow I'm gonan take 2 lessons to get a bit better because my teacher changed cars from Golf to something bigger.. anyways, I really want to pass the test on Friday.
I have a test abotu math on Thursday, and I don't know anything about it.. damn.. heh

I don't really have something to write about.. I came back from school at 12 and fell asleep from 12 pm to 6 pm

today I had a test at 7:15 am about economics, so I woke up at 6:30 to get ready for school. the test was just ok
so after a few hours, we had a talk in class with our teacher 'home teacher', and we talked about school because today two students of the 11th grade added a notice in the noticeboard of the school that they're against our school's ideology.. our school really suck.. they treat us students like we're grade machines and we're supposed to just get high grades and that's it. like wtf, they don't give a shit about democracy. ok, I know school isn't a democracy place, BUT school needs to treat its students well and not give a shit about them!
4 days ago there was a notice in the Shoham newspaper about a some guy who studied in my high school and finished it 2 years ago.. he's in the army now, and he wrote there about the way school treated him and all his schoolmates bad.
my high school is really new.. just 2 year old. we're gonna be the 3th grade who graduate this high school. anyways, he attacked the school's ideology and he said that the grades are in the center, and not the students as humans, and that's so right! I hate this school! so we talked with one of the guys who wrote the notice in the 11th grade, and he said we should all get together against the headmistress because she's the main problem.
I came back from school around 3:20 and I went to the game at 4:20. yeah, I had a game today against Rishon and I didn't play because of my damn fucked up shoulder. it was an amazing game.. I can't believe it!!
the game began, and Rishon lead 10-0!!! 10 - 0! you get it??? they had a run of 10 zero!!!!! then my awesome coach took a timeout and talked with our players, and when we went back to the court, we were playing just like in the NBA. we had a run of 31-0! we were leading 31-10! it's amazing!!!
at the end of the game we won 98-58.. it was so fucking amazing.. and I wonder how much will we beat them in Shoham! haha, I can't wait for this game!! my coach was happy, all our team were happy and me too, but I was a bit disappointed because of the fact that I couldn't play in this game.. :( oh, Motty Aroesti's son was playing in this team from Rishon.. Motty Aroesti is one of the best Israeli basketball players ever.. he played in Maccabi Tel Aviv with Mikkey Berkovich.
I don't know what place in the league we are.. I guess we're first or second..
Amit found a job! this bitch!$# he's gonna work on a pizzaria in Modi'in.. he's starting on Thursday, and he'll get $4.25 and that's pretty good for our age..

good morning everyone!
Last night I went with Amit to Roy's party.. his birthday was a couple of days ago so we partied last night at his house.. it was ok, we met all friend from school, and there were 3 chicks I've never seen before.. I don't know where they are from, but they looked pretty nice.. we arrived at Roys with Amit's car, and everybody were looking at us because most of the people in my school don't have a car, and Amit has a car of his own! I mean holy shit! he's got a car, his mom has a car and also his dad! 3 cars!!! we have two cars, and both of them are fucked up.. my dad wants to sell his car because he's having a lot of problems with it. anyways, we arrived there in the beginning of the party, so there weren't a lot of people yet. we didn't stay there for too long because we arrived there at 12 am and we had to be in the bowling at 1 am.. and it's arounf 25-30 minutes far from here, so we stayed at the party for like 20 minutes, and went to take Ofir and Leon. so I went with Amit, Ofir and Leon to the bowling.. we played 2 games.. the first one Ofir won, and in the second one I won and I even made a new record!! I made 151 points! my last record was 129 and it is still a lot!
I don't know anyone of my friends who made more than 120 points so I consider myself as a good bowling player! hehe

it's 2:20 pm now, I woke up around 11. I have a test about economics on Monday and a test about math on Wednesday.. I'm gonna study a little bit for the economics test because I like the teacher :p

Memorial events to mark six years since the murder of prime minister Yitzhak Rabin opened Sunday with a ceremony at the President's Residence in Jerusalem. President Moshe Katsav said at the ceremony that "the lessons from Rabin's murder were not learned that were supposed to change the face of the country." The ceremony was held with the participation of Foreign Minister Shimon Peres, Rabin's son, Yuval, and his sister Rachel Yaakov.

Peres said at the ceremony that it was not easy to speak after "what took place in Hadera," but emphasized that the nation of Israel could not lose its way and hope. "I will never forget the courage in your heart, when nearly every day, in the face of incitement, you knew that it was possible to murder you. But it was impossible to cut off the way," Peres said.

Head of the committee of leaders of Arab municipalities, Shauki Khatib, said that he would not forget the warm things Rabin said about the Arab sector just a few days before his murder. Khatib pointed out that Rabin was the first to signal a new way of relating to the Arab sector in Israel, which was translated in actual dedds that brought hope to the Arab settlements.

The official state ceremony to mark six years since the Rabin assassination will be held Monday at 3 P.M. at Mount Herzl in Jerusalem. Participating in the ceremony will be the president, Prime Minister Ariel Sharon, Knesset Speaker Avraham Burg, Supreme Court President Aharon Barak and members of the Rabin family. Immediately afterward, at 5 P.M., a special Knesset session will be convened.

Eilat School Trip

I came back from the trip a couple of hours ago.. we came back at 9:20 pm. it was the best trip I've ever had with school!@$ it was sooooo fucking good!!!!!
my digital cam it fucked up, so Amit took pictures with his digital camera, and he just sent me the pics he took.. I'm damn tired so I'll write more about the trip tomorrow.
Maccabi kicked wiped out Malaga. we beat Spanish club Malaga convincingly 80-62. we kicked their ass!!!
in the first half, Malga was leading by 9 points, and in the second half Malga have scored just 14 points!!!
anyways I'm off to bed. night, and have fun wih the pics! I took pics with a regular cam too, so I'll take the pics to the picture-store in a few days..
